VA RPV Chairman Pat Mullins' statement on Bill Bolling
From email

Posted on 12/02/2012 6:43:25 AM PST by Gopher Broke

RPV Chairman Pat Mullins issued the following statement:

"I am disappointed by Lt. Governor Bolling's remarks over the past 48 hours. Lt. Governor Bolling has a stellar record of public service, and has long been a strong voice for the conservative cause. Nowhere in his statements does he mention a policy disagreement with the Attorney General.

The proper venue for challenging a fellow Republican is during a nomination contest. Lt. Governor Bolling chose to suspend his campaign. I hope he will take his own words to heart and work to bring our Party together." ###

I was really surprised that Bill did this. This is really sour grapes and just petty. If he’d have simply ran for Lt Governor and again and endorsed Cuccinelli he would’ve went a long way to putting to rest doubts about him the grass roots have had since he was such an early supporter of Mitt Romney but instead he has really proven his stripes to be what many of us feared. He is just another soft Republican who thinks the only way to win is to accomodate and capitulate to the left. I really am disappointed. I’ve been involved in local GOP for more than a decade in VA and Bill though not a firebrand has always been a decent guy however like so many VA GOP which like to eat its own he has thrown in his lot with the cannibles. I hope he comes to his senses and joins the team and works to win Virginia again this next year.
