Lottery is horrible if you actually look at the %. State takes from the pool, taxed on the winnings, Annuity for full payout or like 50% for lump sum, nobody talks about what happens to winning tickets not turned in.
But for $10 bucks 4-5 times a year, I get a nice sleep laying in bed at night dreaming about being the chosen one for that week.
Maybe if people didn't over analyze they might find the excitement of possibility refreshing.
nobody talks about what happens to winning tickets not turned in.....It’s amazing how many are thrown away, lost, misplaced, etc. Point in case: As a cop, one of our officers was called to a house where the dead old man was suspected of being beaten up and robbed (he died a painful natural death but tore himself and the house up doing it). While looking in a dresser drawer which had been torn out and scattered on the floor, he found lottery tickets in the sock drawer that were three years old and expired. One was found out by relatives of the deceased to be a $500,000 winner!
