I thought Richt was under the gun last year early. Be an amazing rebound. I’m expecting Bama will be 3 1/2 point favorite at least.
While I am not sure how I feel about Notre Dame being back near the top, I do like the idea of a Notre Dame-Alabama title game. That is some serious nostalgia going on!
Been a dawg fan a long time. Watched the 1980 championship game. I think Richt is a damn good man...and a damn good recruiter. But...IMHO he has two major, deal killing flaws that have kept him from winning a championship.
1. He relies too much on recruiting the skill positions and not the lines...on both sides of the ball. Football is won and lost on the LOS..period.
2. He runs a program that lacks discipline and execution. Throughout his tenure his teams have committed dumb 15 yard penalties, while at the same time missed blocks, tackles, run gaps, coverages, and other assignments.
Bama, on the other hand, does not. Ever.
Richt has produced some NFL talent, but no championships. While I’m hoping for the best, I believe he won’t.
