The premises that some tv programs just do not hold up well ongoing series. They would be better served to be mini-series, I think.
I enjoyed Political Animals. It has about 6 episodes, IIRC. It didn’t get enough viewership to get renewed, but it didn’t have a cliff-hanger ending the left viewers hanging after it was cancelled.
There are still many TV series from the past 40 years that ended with cliff-hangers and no series resolutions.
They really need to revive the mini-series. It’s a great format. We watched the movie of “the Hunger Games” and I felt that so, so much was left out - I told hubby if we hadn’t listened to the audio book I wouldn’t have any idea of what was going on. But it could have made a great mini-series.
It appears “American horror story” is sort of doing that, but of course this year they’ve gone all anti-Catholic which is not only offensive, but trite. But I did like their idea of a completely new story-line.
