Actually, I’m glad that he didn’t resign. Had he done so, a sitting President Gore would have been easily elected in 2000, and Gore in the Oval Office during, and after 9/11 is impossible to contemplate.
What’s even more bone chilling is to imagine what a 1980 Carter 2nd term would have played out llike, and how it would have effected us uo until today in 2012.
