Same thing happened to Reagan and W’s dad lost to Clinton when Carter’s laws sunk tons of banks and they were being bailed out all through Bush 1’s Presidency. They blamed Bush 1 and not Carter by giving Clinton the win and Perot the assist.
“W’s dad lost to Clinton” because he was a RINO who reneged on his pledge to not raise taxes. It’s as simple as that.
