4th quarter, we're up by 14 with 1:16 on the clock (vanity)

Being a Detroit Lions fan (yeah I know...I've already heard it all) I must relay a recent game as it applies in a major way to tomorrow's election.

On September 23 of this year, the Detroit Lions played the Tennessee Titans in Nashville in what should have been an easy win for the Lions. Instead, they played with a weak game plan and just about got obliterated in the process. But then in the fourth quarter, something interesting happened. The Lions' quarterback suffered a minor injury and had to leave the game with the team losing to the Titans by 14 points with 1:16 left in the game. The Titans had been playing an aggressive game up to this point and certainly assumed they had this game wrapped up. Who wouldn't think that? Well the Lions miraculously scored 14 points in 18 seconds to tie the game and send it into overtime. 14 POINTS IN 18 SECONDS! It was an amazing moment I must say.

Now, they went to overtime and the Titans scored a field goal, but under the new rules, the opposing team is granted an opportunity to match or beat their score. So the Lions moved the ball all the way to the Titans 7 yard line and were sitting on 4th and 1. Instead of kicking the field goal to tie the game, the Lions opted to go for it...that is they lined up intending to try to draw the Titans offside to get the first down. Unfortunately, the Lion's center didn't get the play call right and actually snapped the ball on the hard count instead of faking it. The Lions failed to get the first down and lost the game.

Here's the point. Like the Titans, Romney is up and things are looking good going into tomorrow's election, but there is still 1:16 left on the game clock. Tomorrow, we will be inundated with "reporting" telling us how amazing the turnout is for Obama, and it looks like the enthusiasm is definitely with the President, blah, blah, blah.

Folks, no matter what we hear or see, we must show up to the polls and vote. We must not believe anything we're being told until they show Mitt Romney's face as the 45th President of the United States.

The Titans thought they had the game wrapped up with only 1:16 left on the clock with a significant lead. But they almost blew it. Detroit almost took advantage of their premature celebration. The thing to remember is the Lions and Titans got a chance to play another game a week later...for them it was just one of 16 games. But for us our country literally hangs in the balance.

It's the fourth quarter and we're up by 14 points...so let's not take it for granted. Let's keep playing with all that aggressive energy that got us to this point and let's finish this thing! Vote, take people with you, call undecideds, ignore the media, remind someone else to ignore the media. Let's take away the left's opportunity to demoralize us. Let's actually score one MORE touchdown so nobody will doubt the mandate to rid ourselves of this national nightmare and disgrace that is Barack Obama and the modern Democratic party!

Even here in Texas, where a Romney win is in the bag, vote anyway, we want as wide of a popular vote margin as possible.

Nah, no you haven't. I was a Tampa Bay Bucs fan from the beginning and I remember very well that speedy ___ named Barry Sanders who waxed us regularly when we were part of the good old "Black and Blue" NFC Central. He was beautiful to you but we Bucs fans had some miserable seasons where the funniest joke was "What happens when you put a pair of tickets on your car for free? You come back to find 4 or 8!".

Anyway your point is very valid, ignore the pollsters and vote like OUR COUNTRY DEPENDS ON IT! BECAUSE IT DOES!!
