Greetings from western PA. It finally stopped raining after a week of hurricane Sandy’s effects. My cabbage plants both green and purple look glorious with the raindrops glimmering on their leaves. My marigolds do well in the mix of 40’s temps and rain. However it’s supposed to drop to just above freezing tonight so I brought my potted plants of marigolds inside. It will go back up to 50 degrees by Wed and I’ll set them back outside. I try to keep them going every year as long as I can, then harvest the flowers for storage for planting in the spring. Marigolds don’t do well inside with the furnace on, so I eventually cut the stalks and put them in a vase for decoration and to dry out.
