Questionable - I don’t see how she could not know some things.
1. at 5 years old (in the mid 60’s) I knew my name and birthdate.
2. I was taught as a very small child to go to authorities if I need help, so when she escaped or any time after why did she not reach out to some sort of police or help service.
3. I’d been hugely traumatized as she likely was. How is it she’s just the average mom now telling bedtime stories - I would need a a lot of mental gymnasitcis to get from kidnapped to jungle to almost prostitute to house maid etc to well adjusted mom......
just a few of my thoughts on why this is questionable story.
Hard to swallow.
If you ever study child development (like in a University) you soon learn that there are specific times and sequences that have to happen well, basically in the correct order and at the proper time.
Language development is one of them. Google Piaget.
AFAIK, all the other verified examples of feral children, none of them ever attained anything approaching even average language skills.
If, at age 5, you had been wrested from your usual environment and subjected to an ordeal comparable to hers, I'm sure that, after only a few months, you would have forgotten most of those "factual memories." At that age, the brain is still very plastic. Without occasionally "refreshing," such dry factual information will be quickly sublimated and, eventually, deleted.
Not saying that I believe her story - on the contrary: She ought to have absolutely no memory of the circumstances of her initial abduction.
Regards,
