I am the first to believe in a firm separation of church and state. I take it you are not a “religious” person. You are deceived if you believe this notion... pure secularism is a form of “non-religion”, which still holds a firm set of “non-values” and the perceived notion of freedom from organized religion leave the holder of these beliefs as a cohort of “non-believer” and an integrator of the secular humanist movement.

Having said all that... you are missing my entire point, you see... Secular humanists are weaklings, compared to the sickle of radical Islam and would be taken over, should there not be a just as passionate, although non-violent, opposing force... Whether you realize it or not, you, as a secular humanist, have collaterally benefited from the Christian principals that founded the great nation of America.

You have also missed the alluded and implied meaning of the rhetorical question, “knew not”... We are not just implying religion here... we are talking about the entire set of values and founding principles that made our country great, along with, you guessed it, American pride and exceptionalism and FREEDOM and civil liberties.

All this and much more is what’s at stake when we refer to a rising president “who knows not”, which purely means, has no regard for, the ideologies that made and preserve our way of life and form of government.
