A few years ago I went to a Walmart to buy some items.
I then went to a local big box grocery store for things WM did not carry. The first thing I noticed was the price for the same brand goods at the (Unionized) grocery store were TWICE THE PRICE of Walmart.
One woman looked at the higher priced item, shook her head in sticker shock, put it in her cart, and said..” Well, it is just too far to go to Walmart right now.”
I buy my meats at a local unionized grocery store with an excellent butcher shop and all the other stuff at WM.
Yesterday @ WM I ran into a cashier at the unionized store with a cart full of groceries.
She said “I can’t afford to shop at my store”.
WE do 98% of our grocery shopping at Kroger (which is unionized) - they beat WalMart on MOST prices. Further - WalMart doesn’t carry fresh meats - it is all water-injected, pre-processed garbage from a factory somewhere, and their seafood is often imported frozen from China.
