Morocco is pretty pro-western and more secular than the typical Muslim country. I was there in 2008, in Tangier, and the locals explained that Morocco’s constitution mandates tolerance for all monotheistic religions. There were Catholic churches within sight of mosques across the street from synagogues. It was pretty amazing.
Of course, they do have their own radical Islamist elements and there have been a couple of bombings in Morocco. And Morocco has not been completely immune from the “Arab spring” violence, but it’s very different from Egypt or Libya.
I would expect that the abortion ship will anchor off the harbor of Tangier, since it is a very international (i.e. “more tolerant”) city and is just across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain if they have to make a run for it.
All of that said, I’m still rooting for the Exocet missile.
The imams will send them in from neighboring countries and demand the ones there riot.
