Good riddance to a liberal whiner...too bad he can’t take the cult he founded with him.

The US allows dual citizenship. No problems there for Woz.

Boy when Oboingo got elected I told a number of people AU was our escape valve, they all thought I was nucking futs..... Funny thing is the Monster-In-Laws are thinking of going on a Senior Trip and some Jewish Senior Conservative friends are beginning to think America is over and are talking of moving to AU. I guess I am not crazy after all and neither is S.W.....

“However, for a U.S. citizen to actively seek out foreign citizenship for any other reason is grounds for them losing their US citizenship.”
Ya right, never happen. Why? Well then the US can’t tax the hell out of you. So they are more than happy having you keep your US citizenship as it allows them to collect taxes on whatever you make where ever you are. As far as Steve W looking to get an Australian citizenship I say go for it, why not? Any way are people here so hard over on people looking to live somewhere that is freer than here in the US? If more people did this then the US would eventually be forced to go back to being the freest country around rather than number 18 on the current list or risk loosing a lot of their best (and richest) to other countries.

Woz & his wife ride their Segways past our house nearly every Wednesday on their way to the local Apple store. They’re kind of a local institution, I’ll be sorry to see him go.

Obama lost his U.S. Citizenship when the SoS of the US issued a Certificate of Loss of Nationality to him in 1968.
Obama's mother was required to tell the U.S. State Department a family member on her old passport must be removed from the renewal passport because the family member obtained citizenship of another country. See Stanley Ann's passport renewal.
It doesn't matter if the ex-patriot request a renouncement. A Certificate of Loss of Nationality is issued at the US SoS's discretion when a U.S. Citizenship moves out of the country and obtains citizenship of another country. Obama was notified of his option to recapture his U.S. Citizenship at age 18. He chose not to and attended Occidental as a foreign exchange student. Eventually, he naturalized as a US Citizen in 1983.
