This took place in October of 2000. Not exactly “news”.

You're right. Another deceptive practice by the "I hate the cops" crowd. Here's a story on the outcome for those interested.

Our house was raided by the King County Swat Team shortly after we moved in 14 years ago. They shook my wife and our dogs up pretty badly and made a big mess. She was worried they were going to shoot our dogs. One of them held her against the wall while the others ran around the house, in their swat team outfits, guns drawn ready to shoot anyone who looked like they were a threat

Fortunately, my wife was home alone and we hadn't amassed the arsenal that we have accumulated at this time. I never did get any kind of reasonable explanation from the Sheriff's department. I certainly am not one of the "I hate the cops crowd" as I work with the cops on a daily basis. But occasionally sloppy work does get them into trouble.
