Per oil post... I know, but it isn’t immediately available, now is it?

We have a vast amount of oil and natural gas IN THE GROUND. That isn’t much help if your gas tank is empty.

From what I understand, there is a decent percentage about 4 years out (we just need to remove all the regulatory stuff hampering drilling and production), enough to send oil down appreciably. Within 10 years, there is enough so we are only importing from Canada and Mexico. When Mexico retakes Callipornia, they will probably open up the coastline to drilling. From all I understand, there are probably Saudi type fields off Callipornia.

Per the previous post on oil.

Oil prices and supply react to future expectations. The fact that something is going to happen in a couple of years has significant impact on prices today. It doesn't take long for the OPECkers to get into discord and start fighting with themselves. The real goal should be for us to stop exporting hundreds of billions of dollars. (I haven't done the analysis to see how many US dollars end up supporting people that hate us. Since oil is a fungible commodity, importing at all, essentially, funds people who hate us.)
