This news doesn’t surprise me. The people of China are little more than drones at this point, the smart ones having fled to America. These cyborgs undoubtedly function better with bureaucratic values than democratic values or captialist values, at least in their Maoist country. China could do with a good pull down the bathtub drain, if you ask me; the cyborgs had better hope that they are waterproof!

China is filled with people, and many of them are brilliant - dare I say there are more "brilliant" ones in the field of science and engineering there, than in the United States. Take for example the fact that in the "old days," that is to say 20 years ago, new, cutting edge products that were manufactured in China were almost always engineered in the West. Not only is that not the case today, in many sectors the engineering and design aspects need to be handled there not because they "have" the engineering, design, machining and manufacturing people on tap, but because we DON'T! This is a bad thing, and I know there are plenty of exceptions, but in an increasing number of sectors, is the truth.
