I think Frank Ocean's narrative was a very intelligent ploy to boost his record sales by accessing millions of "progressives" who normally would never bother to purchase a contemporary R&B album.

His story is a selling point for radio programmers, music journalists, festival promoters and for crossover into other media as well.

He retroactively "came out" just as he launched the publicity campaign for his new record.

I suspect it's all just a story.

I agree. As far as what Stevie Wonder said, I agree with that as well. But the liberals will hate him for it.
