Of course they did inflict sanctions against CalTech, because during their infamously rigorous quarter year schedule, they would permit any student to drop without penalty during the first two weeks. That might, but never did, permit a student athlete to play a game as a full time student, then drop to become a part time student. UNC African American studies gets a pass, but CalTech got sanctions for imaginary flaws.

a local college football team lost scholarships because a few players left college early, or dropped out for academics or behavior problems.. or criminal activity.....somehow leaving early went against their total student achievement....
