Yeah, it’s streaky and the Giants haven’t even hit a hot streak yet despite having one of the best pitching staffs in Baseball.
Matt Cain, Madison Bumgarner, Ryan Vogelsong, Tim Lincecum, Barry Zito...
Did you happen to watch the 2010 playoffs and WS?
Good pitching almost always beats good hitting.
The Giants have one of the best staffs in Baseball, and the two Cy Young winners on the staff aren’t even pitching well.
Like I said, if Lincecum returns to form, which he has started to show signs of doing so, Cain, Bumgarner, Vogelsong and Lincecum will once again be very formidable should they reach the playoffs again like they did in 2010 when they won the WS without any hitting to speak of and something they have improved upon since then, although they could use another bat in the outfield and they miss closer Brian Wilson, who is out for the year.
They may not have the horses to win it all this season, but they will likely win the division, barring injuries.
Dodgers didn’t even sell-out any of the 3 games against the Giants this past week in the battle for 1st place.
Red Sox traded Beltre after winning a batting title. Theo could have smelled the decay.
I still loathe the Yanks.
“The Red Sox are talking with the Dodgers about a deal that would send Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to Los Angeles, according to a source.”
In other words, every good player on the team.
AFTER Bobby Valentine is fired, it will take the Red Sox five years to field a competitive team.
Alas, I think you may be right.
Red Sox just dumped 270 million $ of liability on the Dodgers.
