There are two reasons that Hillary would have turned down the V.P. job. One is that she didn’t want to be associated with the landslide defeat. The other is that she is positioning to get Obama dumped at the convention.
There does seem to be a turning of the MSM against Obama and some references like this story which tout Hillary.
Even the McClatchy News/Sacramento Bee had a most favorable major story about Romney and his many charitable acts as a Mormon bishop. Quite a turn for them.

There’s a third reason too: she wants to run for Pres in 2016 and doesn’t want to be as closely tied to Obummer as a VP would be.
Can’t say I’m surprised that Hillary has more balls than Obama or for that matter a lot of people in his administration.
Can you really believe that the Dems would dump Obama in Charlotte at Hillary’s behest? There would be a street reaction that would make 68 Chicago look like a Tea Party Rally. Also if the Clintons had the power to do this, we’d not have Obama as POTUS. We’d have Hillary. She was to be crowned in 08 and Obama beat her like a rug. Is she angry? Of course. Can she do anything about it? No!!! It will be Obama and the Media vs Romney without 20% of his vote, as they are unwilling to back him. Result? 4 More Years!! After that 2016 won’t matter a bit.
NO, the second reason Hillary didn't want to replace Biden is that should Obama win, she'd be tied to the RAT administration that ensured another democRAT would not be elected until the next century.
Never gonna happen! The backlas from the black community would be horrendous. The rats would lose the black vote over night.
