I Don’t think we are being told the truth. I think he is a muzzie.

And on what exactly are you basing this assumption? There is absolutely nothing about his background or his actions, at least that we know of so far, that indicates this is the case. If he was some sort of Muslim terrorist, I would think he would have shouted Allah Akbar before opening fire (and first hand witnesses would have heard and reported that) and would have had a body bomb and blown himself up and or gone down in a “blaze of glory” in order to be a Martyr.

To me he sounds like a very classic case of a schizophrenic – very bright academically, on a path to leading a successful life, once friendly and engaged, but sometime in his mid-twenties, suddenly has trouble in school, drops out, has trouble holding a job, becomes more and more withdrawn, increasingly fixated on a fantasy world.

You do know that not everyone who commits mass murder is a “muzzie” or has any clear political motivation for doing so. There are some people who just go crazy. Everything I’ve read so far seems to indicate he was crazy or more precisely suffering from a brain disease like schizophrenia.

Some like to look to vast conspiracies or underlying reasons when these things happen. In truth sometimes a person who commits this sort of heinous and senseless act, is just plain crazy.

Unfortunately there were probably many signs that this guy was becoming unhinged; his own mother was seemingly unsurprised that her son committed this crime; the university where he worked in the medical research lab, dismissed him last month and turned off his access card to the university facilities. I think it will come out that all the warning signs were there that this guy was very sick and presented a danger to others but sadly involuntary commitment to a mental hospital is very difficult of not impossible to obtain.

Isn’t there a schizophrenia that hits young men (mostly) in their late teens and early twenties? Tends to be inherited? Unless they take their medications regularly, they go off and become violent, especially close family. It’s difficult to force them to take the medication, as they are of age.

Don't get sucked in, MD Expat. The marygonzo id (joined a few weeks ago) is obviously some dipshit trying to make Freepers look like knuckle-dragging reactionaries.

What say you, mary?

I would agree with everything you said except this, “very bright academically”. Mark Levin said last night that he was struggling in grad school and was most likely going to fail out.
