I was looking for the automobile study that was done. I'm sorry I could not find it. Generally there was no predicting how cars would respond. Some vehicles had no ill effects. Some of them had accessories that failed and others came to a complete stop. Of the once that shut down, about half could be rebooted in limp mode. The remainder had to be towed away. It was a crapshoot as far as predicting the outcomes.
The findings about varnish failures on windings were the result of Russian tests.
