Actually, I hadn't thought of that, although it is a possibility.

He has a problematical appointee who has been in the news lately, and it wouldn't be hard for the press to gin up a 'motive'.

As we have seen recently, facts don't matter to a media-driven populace, and the media are there to sell soap.

Instead, it is all about the image, the emotions the media tie to the 'brave, persevering, honest and forthright victim'.

By the time all the fawning memorials would be over (a few weeks, or until more Rights had been trashed with 'Emergency legislation' a few thousand pages thick--or even just Executive Orders, whichever came first), one would think Elvis had died again for all the used Kleenex produced by the people watching TV.

The racism meme could be trotted out again by the MSM if the appointee was the alleged target, and the ensuing and obligatory riots would be enough excuse for Martial Law, if the polls didn't reflect 'growing sympathy' for the administration.

Of course, agitation and incitement work best in urban areas in summer, so August is the most likely time, barring a heat wave.

When Bill O'Reilly calls those who have (correctly, imho) identified that F&F was to pad stats for guns retrieved from Cartel killings to justify more gun control a "conspiracy theory", I doubt there would be much analysis going on, especially not on TV. If the internet was compromised, the lockout would be pretty much complete, and no serious look would be taken at events past the media meme.

That may sound tinfoil hat, but in view of the lengths this administration has already gone to in order to impose the will of those pulling their strings on the people, I would put nothing past them.

Sometimes a theory is a correct representation of reality, no matter how much conspiracy is involved, nor how outlandish it seems. In fact, the more outlandish, the better, because that increases the deniability coefficient.
