There is quite a bit of data about radiation exposure and it's effects on the human body. Most people don't understand radiation and its' biological affects, and therefore fear it. Understandable, especially for people like yourself. Again I go back to Chernobyl—the most epidemiologically studied event in medical history. No, international studies conducted in the years following Chernobyl document an astonishing rise in ‘agressive’ thyroid cancer in young children that resisted all attempts to treat it. I was hoping this meant ‘given the resources available in the Ukraine’ but the report documented the fact that even western facilities in England and other parts of Europe were unsuccessful. Why should TEPCO/Japan decide that it’s ‘only’ thyroid cancer and withhold potassium iodide from children when these pills are always waved before the public’s watchful eye when the plants are first built “Don’t worry - in the UNLIKELY event that we admit to anything wrong at Fukushima, your cities can give you potassium iodide...’ It wouldn’t prevent the other types of illnesses documented in Chernobyl (suppression of immune system, leukemia, early dementia, cardiac arrest etc.) but why withhold the only hope children had of avoiding radiation induced thyroid cancer??? To avoid accountability, of course. So what if your child gets cancer, at least we didn’t admit to a radiation release sufficient to cause it! Later, we’ll deny it was Fukushima because we claimed there wasn’t enough radiation released! Touche!

yes - dating back to the 50’s at the start of nuclear energy and JOhn GOfman’s research, it has been known to harm human health, even at low doses. The BEIR VII (latest US research) and the resulting report from Chernobyl simply put numbers to the damage which has long been known to result.

Not world wide, actually. It’s the insurer (government) propping up the industry (nuclear). That’s why the nuke industry is trying to bury legitimate research under fake research put out by the nuke industry. Kinda like the way tobacco companies hired doctors to generate feeble reports purporting to prove that smoking was unrelated to lung health. Oh I read a report by an oil company claiming that oil spills offshore ‘protected’ seaweed anchored to break water rocks from ‘damaging’ waves. Yeah it’s not like shilling has never been attempted before.

When the data (BEIR VII etc.) is against you (the report from the Ukraine, the latest clean data from Hiroshima) then sneer - it’s the nuclear industry’s ‘strongest’ defense. Just act superior. It doesn’t work anymore but that pretense is all you have so make the most of it.
