I’ll give a pass to Cho for this one. I don’t like it when people get overly sensitive about the use of words. “Retard” isn’t the best choice of a word, but I think it’s a minor violation of manners. With the bad choice of words taken away, she is saying “there is a significant chance that a baby I conceive would be disabled, and I therefore don’t want to make that choice.”

I don’t have a problem with that. I’m 100 percent pro-choice before the child is conceived. Someone can NOT conceive a child for any reason they want.

I use the word all the time; usually in reference to Democrats and their politicians. I would never use the word with reference to a child, though.
