Great idea. 100,000 people outside chanting, “Stop Socialism” would be a nice touch to their convention.
Also, reserving all of the restaurant seats before they do would be funny (I’m talking about eating, not standing up the restaurants).
I live in the Wilmington, NC area and if there was a TEA Party event I could bring a few folks in. The issue would be where to stay. The Dims will have booked all the rooms.
I suspect most of the conservatives are leaving town for the beach or the mountains until they have a chance to air the place out.
I’m already planning to go, and have my RV space already reserved.
I just have no idea where to organize.
The GOP is the one that needs a tea party.
Something for any OWS-types thinking of crashing a Freeper/TEA Party gathering to remember.
I’m in Aiken County, SC, about 3 hours from Charlotte.
I’d consider it a privilege to burn some $3/gal to attend an event.
Somebody please ping me if an opportunity develops. Thanks!

I’m in.
The only problem that I can see is they would allow the tea party to organize about 15 miles away. The tolerant left needs space for OWS, communists, gay marriage groups to swoon.
Not sure it’s a good idea. Dems in NC are imploding as it is. Nationally, too, some say. Giving the media excuses to blame the Tea Party for any outbreaks of trouble, true or not, seems unwise.
Now if it were the Republican Convention in Charlotte, perhaps I’d feel differently.
Some of the most effective things to do are fairly low cost and legal for what you are doing. Some examples:
1) Before the Dummies show up, print up and give away hundreds of FREE bumper stickers. It’s really up to the imagination what these bumper stickers can say, as long as North Carolinians would like them and put them on their cars.
For example:

2) Print up and hand out free flyers with a list of the members of congress who belong to the socialist caucus. (Probably needs to be updated.) Be sure to put congressman Mel Watt(D-NC) in bold type.
Also note that the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), Party Chairman Sam Webb has delivered a report to the CPUSA annual conference endorsing Obama and the Democrat party.
“Only a closer alliance of a surging labor movement and its strategic allies the African American people, Latino people, and other peoples of color, women and youth have the wherewithal to turn back this corporate counterattack, while at the same time enact progressive measures.”
Labor will throw itself into the campaign to elect Democrats, moderate as well as progressive, Webb told the conference.
Joelle Fishman, chair of the CPUSA Political Action Commission, further contrasted Obama and his values...upholding the contribution of work and those who do it,” and Mitt Romney, who allegedly values “individualism and corporate greed.”
The AFL-CIO grass roots crusade will engage 400,000 members to canvass their co-workers and neighbors with a unity message for Obama. SEIU will mobilize another 200,000 members with the same goal, Fishman claimed.
“Strengthening and enlarging union, civil rights, community and youth organizations during this election will lay the groundwork for year-round organizing and for future elections in which candidates who come out of the movements, including the Communist Party, run for office.”
Executive Vice Chair of CPUSA Jarvis Tyner then said, These right-wing nut jobs need to understand, we are not going back. If Obama is elected, of course there will be a struggle; a struggle that the democratic forces could win, I would say. If he is defeated, the movement will suffer a big setback and the country will be pushed backwards.”

I’m in! I live in Greenville SC about 2hours from Charlotte but would be up for a Tea Party event.....
The stench of the Democrats will be overpowering. I’d think about attending as soon as I can locate a gas mask.
Was thinking the same think the other day: I SAY OPERATION BRAVO GO, NOW!
Do it, even though I live in Indiana; I’ll be there in spirit!~ Get ‘er done.
