I think it’s an OS issue, just tried it directly from a live Ubuntu 10.10 CD on the Firefox browser that’s included and it still doesn’t work.

Oh well. Guess they don’t iHeart listeners.

The streams almost certainly use caching/buffering to ensure an uninterrupted broadcast and/or to combat interruptions in net traffic.

If you’re running a strict read-only OS i.e. there is no disk folder to write to for buffering purposes perhaps that is where the incompatibility lies.

Edit: you used the live CD only for testing/comparison purposes.

Unfortunately the Windows/Mac market share determines the focus of the streaming site’s programmers. As before they rely on third-party platforms such as Flash and Java so those have to be up to date as well.
