An ally of then-Senator Barack Obama offered Rev. Jeremiah Wright $150,000 to keep his mouth shut until after the 2008 election, according to excerpts released today from the upcoming book The Amateur by Edward Klein.
Wright, Obamas former Chicago pastor, had become a significant political liability in the 2008 presidential campaign because of his anti-American rhetoric. Just months before the election, networks were poring over months of Wrights sermons, which suggested that the United States deserved the Sept. 11 terror attacks. Wright has also encouraged blacks to sing God Damn America instead of God Bless America.
After the media went ballistic on me, I received an e-mail offering me money not to preach at all until the November presidential election, Wright told Klein, according to the New York Post, which obtained the excerpts.

Not to mention, I KNEW at the time, someone was being hushed up, that some kind of “fix” was in. Now we know.
He ought to join Edwards in the slammer for this hush money business. Corrupt!!
That was about the time he retired from his church and bought a huge new mansion ina a gated community. And he did stay quiet, for almost a year.
Strange how the press has no interest in this story...
What is strange is that Obama does not have 1099s filed every time the media and hollywood give him free publicity and campaign adds. We’re talking billions of dollars of free campaign donations. The next time Republicans get in power, awe, what’s the use...
