Check for borers, about 4-6ft up the trunk. Holes a coat hanger tip would fit into, with pink/black slime oozing out. Maggot (larvae) inside, needs squashing, or it’ll hatch into moth and infest your other trees. Ram a coat hanger end into the hole and see if it comes out “clean”.

It’s a fifteen foot tree planted in the fall. It’s become one of life’s tragic inponderals. I’ve spent so much time staring at it, hoping for life, just the power of my mind should have produced something! ( I’m an old lady...if I ruled the world things would be a lot different!)
