It’s funny how so many people are convinced Carter was a bad president.

Mr. Peanut was a cupcake compared to LBJ and Obama. He was ineffective, weak and did no real harm to the US in the 4 years he served. Hell, Carter has done more damage to the US SINCE he left office than he ever did while in office.

That’s the thing. Carter was largely ineffective. Johnson, however, WAS effective—effective in the wrong direction. LBJ gave us both the Vietnam War and the Great Society, a true double-whammy. Obama has been a disaster on all fronts; he’s just lacking a Vietnam to add to his resume. I don’t want to give him a chance to inflict any more damage over another four years.

No harm. Are you kidding. I will name just two.

1. His weakness in dealing with Iran had allowed the cancer of Islamism to be able to rear its ugly head. A disaster of mega proportions not only for us, but for the world.

2. The economy was in a shambles. We had both a low growth and inflation. 70% marginal rates and gas lines.

He [Carter] was ineffective, weak and did no real harm to the US in the 4 years he served

Do you mean other than...

giving up a valuable ally (Iran) to the islamofacists, giving up on hostages for over 400 days, approving an understaffed embarrasing half-assed rescue effort, encouraging Islamic fundamentalists to commit acts of terror, showing the Middle East that America is weak and can be manipulated by controlling oil... all ultimately leading to 911

or

dismantling the military during the Cold War, thus encouraging the Soviets to expand into Afghanistan, Africa, Nicaragua, Honduras, Granada, etc...and forcing Ronald Reagan to spend heavily on the military

or

setting rules and policy on domestic nuclear power that has resulted in American power plants storing dangerous spent fuel in dispersed metal buildings in the hopes of burying it under a Nevada mountain, rather than sending it to reprocessing facilities

or

20%+ inflation and gas lines that have lead to todays eco-car flops

“He was ineffective, weak and did no real harm to the US in the 4 years he served.”

I strongly disagree. Carter lost Iran, the USSR annexed Afghanistan with 50,000 paratroopers, there were 20,000 Cubans fighting to seize Angola on the way to getting the strategic metals needed to make jet and rocket motors in Zaire, plus he surrendered NATO to the intimidation of SS-20’s as well as yanked the neutron bomb deployment after European leaders took the political hit of agreeing to deploy it, plus allowing the Nicaraguan Sandinistas to prepare to set up a Soviet submarine, bomber and naval air patrol (anti-submarine) base in Nicaragua...plus destabilize the rest of Central and Latin America...I could go on...

Carter WAS a bad President.

Our worst ... until Obama.

What made Obama truly awful and dangerous was the massive Democrat majorities that passed the worst legislation since ... LBJ. FDR, LBJ, BHO, have a common thread - they grew government via massive bills, eanabled by large Democrat majorities in Congress.

It’s funny how so many people are convinced Carter was a bad president.

I always thought it was a bad idea to give up the Panama Canal, not to mention throwing the Shaw of Iran under the bus..

What you said is 100% correct. We got past Carter in about 30 seconds, LBJ is still with us, and I suspect that we will have trouble getting 0 out of our lives in the foreseeable future.

“Hell, Carter has done more damage to the US SINCE he left office than he ever did while in office.”

And we ain’t (sic) seen nothing yet... no matter when zero leaves office, he will use his past position to continue to work against the USofA. Remember, he has been privy to all of the US’s military secrets, and it’s probable he will give that information to the Muslim brotherhood, let alone interfere in international affairs as Jimmah Carter has done...
