"I knew Miss Lawrence was both hot and tough when I saw her in _Winter’s Bone_. If you have not seen it, do."

I had put off watching "Winter's Bone" for reasons I can't remember (it listed Number one in our Netflix Suggestions que for a good many weeks) I finally did watch it because my daughter pointed out the star was the girl from the "Hunger Games". My wife wants me to go watch Hunger Games and I am not much of a Movie-Goer anymore preferring instead to watch at home with better sound and an ability to pause the show and more importantly I can tell everyone in my theater to shut up and leave if they think it necessary to talk on their cell phones during the movie. So I figured I could save myself some grief and some money if the young lady wasn't a good actor in "Winter's Bone."

I not only loved the movie, I rated it 5 stars and am looking for a used copy to add to my DVD collection. I live in an area that is plagued with the drug trade that is presented in the movie. I actually had one tenant who was dealing crystal and pills right on her front porch almost like a drive through. Had to go through the local sheriff so I could protect myself from the drug seizure laws.

People go missing in the area all the time and though no one knows anything everybody knows what happened.

Scary.... very scary!

Winter’s Bone the book is WAY better than the movie. Sad though.

I liked the movie too but, just like Hunger Games, the books are so much better!
