Just another argument against AI - I'm not in favor of it even with dogs because it does the same thing that happened here -- makes a very few sires predominant in the gene pool. When you require natural cover (as the Jockey Club does with Thoroughbred horses) it limits the number of females that can be bred to any given male, but with AI (especially with modern techniques like ovulation testing and concentration) the number of pups is pretty much infinite.
It turned out that a very, very popular National Field Trial Champion who sired literally thousands of pups via AI was carrying a serious genetic defect. When he popped up in 2-3 places on a dog's pedigree, so did the defect. And for awhile there it was very hard to avoid him - people were advertising stud dogs in the magazines with "No [dog's name]".
What a wanker!
“I just fathered 600 children in Britain and boy are my wrists tired!... So I saw my friend Elmer today. ‘Henny’ he asked me, ‘Who was that lady I saw you with last night?”
‘Elmer’, I said.’ That was no lady, that was my wife!’
So, everyone having a good time? Before I bring out the next act I want to remind everyone waitresses here work for the tips and they work hard!”
Any of them look like 0bammy?
They could we know nothing about his background.
Cheers!
I think he’s still got some catching up to do to equal Genghis Khan.
YES...what YOU Said....how do children of this procedure who live in the same city all of their life avoid marrying a half brother or sister? I’ve often wondered that....(In the 80’s they were doing AI for single/divorced moms who just wanted a baby....I know....I have a relative who did just that.)
Wow. He’s sired more offspring than a lot of stud horses.
He donated a lot of genetic material.. Fathering is something else entirely.
Barry Stevens, a film-maker from Canada, was concieved ...
&&&
concieved? I wonder if that is the same as being conceived.
I should not be surprised, I suppose, as the entire piece is written with each sentence getting its own paragraph, a style which seems to be quite popular these days with barely literate online writers.
Quote from the article:
Allan Pacey - a male fertility expert at Sheffield University said a healthy man could make up to 50 donations a year.
I guarantee you I could make more than 50 donations a year. Just sayin’, not sure where he gets this estimate!!
Not good high density ones. Takes a little time for the sperm count to build back up. We had some problems conceiving with our first. We finally got 'her done after I went away on a week long TDY. A nicely timed TDY I might add. Second daughter was an accident. Go figure.
