Attention Nebraska Citizens: Voter ID Law in home stretch. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

From Paul Von Behren;

We are potentially in the final week for Voter ID. We need to see where the Speaker puts the bill on priority, but the debate is mostly formality. We need to complete the required 8 hours of discussion, then muster 33 votes for cloture. Debate will stop and the bill will pass on a simple majority. So cloture is the key vote, and why we need to keep pushing the senators below.

First from Sen. Janssen:

"The message here in Lincoln is getting around and heard. While the misinformation from our opposition happened all at once, our approach of slow and steady is paying dividends. Opposition emails are at a trickle but I do expect them to come full force once the bill gets scheduled. What is making Senators re-think their positions is the grass roots effort and having their actual constituents contact them. We have also been well informed on the bill, unlike the opposition that just preaches talking points, many of which are not factual. The staff and Senators I have spoken to appreciate how friendly everybody has been when they come to their offices. Please keep it up and thank you VERY MUCH!!!!!!!"

Again, take a bow. In addition to passing 239, we are also establishing Nebraska conservatives as an intelligent, committed force. That's the ultimate win!

Actions for this week:

First, continue the Tuesday email / Thursday phone strategy. We've spent a lot of time on the arguments. Now a brief, polite email or call again asking for their support is all you need. At a minimum, ask that they vote for cloture and allow the bill to be voted on.

Second, let's put more pressure on the most resistant senators. PRESSURE IS NOT PUSHING. Pressure is having their "actual constituents" contacting them. So if you live in or know someone who lives in their district, your calls and emails will be the most important.

I believe the most resistant senators are:

Seiler - I have not heard his most recent arguments but he seems difficult to move.

Schumacher - has his own amendment. He is willing to kill the bill if he does not get his way. We have asked him to vote to pass this initial version as a minimum, then come back in the next session to add detail.

Lambert - no detail, just feedback from constituents.

Harms - seems determined to deny the problem and listen to exaggerated cost estimates.

The Left will be back in full cry when this is re-introduced and we've gained the upper hand by staying at it.

Stay In The Fight - We're Almost There
