My suspecion is justified.
1. No reply to my message. If he really was a former student he would have replied. We are a small school and I am pretty well known. If he was conservative, he would want to connect with me (since not all profs are).
2. The details of his messages are silly. No one would say that in our community. He mentions Jewish speakers. That’s because I invited Michael Medved to speak, but he is just about the only Jew I can remember speaking to our chapel. No one would say that if they were really a student. Also, students don’t care about denominations. They would not comment on this detail.
3. The SS told the university that they would monitor our email. I figure that they would be monitoring chat like FR too.
4. He appeared on Feb. 17, then never posted again.
5. I asked him in mail and in a post and got no reply.
