Mudcats, Pickers, Pawn Stars, Swamp People, what the hell?

I couldn't agree more with the senator.

They used to have a lot of Modern Marvels and good learnin’ stuff. Now it is big foot sightings and a bunch of idiot “reality” shows. PUKE.

Not to mention the alien conspiracy theory stuff. Every ancient structure was built by or with the help from aliens, didn’t you know?

Have you or the senator watched those shows? They do in fact give lots of history. True they may also use a story plot in doing so. American Restoration is also good for history. If you watch Pawn Stars you usually will see several history experts on various subjects per show. Swamp People teaches a lot of history as well.

Years ago some nicknamed it the Hitler Channel because of the WW II documentaries, etc.—and yes on occasion they will run
“Third Reich: The Rise” and “T.R.—The Fall”. But yes they do run stuff like Pawn Stars now. I was at a Chinese restaurant the other day, in bar section (you can eat your meal in bar) and some guy was glued to “Pawn Stars” on History.

I did like their recent How The States Got their Shapes,
though; a lighthearted look at history and geography.
