I dont understand why parents wouldnt have to be involved, of course. I kinda jumped over that and was going for a different point. It doesnt make any sense that parents would be left out.

"Australian children to be sterilized without parental consent under new eugenics law"
You missed addressing both the title and subject of the article. There's nothing "tricky" about this issue, nor is there a "bigger" issue than this, imho.
WELL PUT.
Christians understand that man is inherently sinful, therefore our natural inclination will always be toward sin. It is because of this, and this fact is demonstrated throughout history, that whenever these macabre practices begin they always descend rapidly into the abyss.
Look at abortion, it was originally billed as some sort of "last resort" to save a life, now it is the most common surgical procedure (performed EVERY 24 SECONDS) and the leading cause of death (killing as many people as heart disease, lung disease, cancer and strokes COMBINED) in the United States.
I know I ignored the headline, but yes there are bigger and harder issues around this context.
I was mainly commenting on the -way- that certain issues are discussed— or indeed never actually discussed— here at FR.
