Whitney Houston died at the age of 48. Most articles about her death said something like, "Houston struggled with drug and alcohol problems for years ..."
But Houston also struggled with something else that black Republicans and black non-Democrats can understand: ridicule and ostracism for "selling out," or "acting white," or not being "black enough."
Ebony, the black monthly magazine, wrote about the then-27-year-old: "Black disc jockeys have chided her for 'not having soul' and being 'too white.' ... She was booed at the Soul Train Music Awards. ... It's enough to drive a good Christian girl to drink, drugs or at least to cursing. But not Whitney. Though it hurts her deeply, she handles it all with aplomb."
Did she?

The person who I blame the most is Bobby Brown. He was such a bad influence on her.

guess not :(
Its not pride.
Its hate.
I am sick to of this racial divide.

-— wonderful! Thanks for the quote!
Well it that is true, then the basis is the great green monster. Whitney Houston, before her problems, was a gorgeous young woman..she had a wonderful figure and could wear anything and make even the ugliest outfit look good ( something the First Frump has yet to be able to do, her make up and hair always looked wonderful and she had a lovely complexion..she knew how to put herself together and looked good even in her grubbies. It is a shame this talented woman faced such demons and has gone way before her time. I hope her daughter will be surrounded by those who really care about her and not the $$$$$$$$$$$ she will inherit. It is all very sad.
Listen to this ‘I Will Always Love You’ cover in honor of Whitney by Amber Riley February 14.

Wow. Pretty darn good. Sounds almost like Whitney.
They said on Entertainment tonight that future record sales were expected to reach 50 million or more.
Oh, so does this mean that there is something wrong with being white? This is blatant racism on the part of blacks. Any politically correctophiles care to comment?
That woman has honest to goodness real talent, a harkback to the 50sand the 60s when it really was about singing phenomenally and being a great performer as opposed to churning out endless supermodels whose primary talent is dressing like they are looking for dollar bills in their pants. I must admit, I still watch the musical numbers on that show of hers, though needless to say the in between parts, with the notable exception of Jane Lynch, have become excessively lame and usually unatchable.
I don’t watch Glee. I picked up on this girl on Glee singing ‘I Will Always Love You’ to honor Whitney from watching ‘Entertainment Tonight’.
Actually I think the singer’s name is Mercedes Jones- and Amber is just the character she plays.
Anyway, this girl is fantastic. I thought it was Whitney.
I wonder how many conservatives (of any color) have been criticized by other conservatives for being “too black”?
On behalf of the seemingly MIA politically correctophiles:
C'mon, already! You know that only whites are capable of racism! Get with the program!
