Cheaper by the Dozen is a great family read aloud. We are down to only two home school students these days, but my husband still says at dinner time, ‘Not of general interest’ when our boys start waxing eloquent about the computer game of the day.

It is a great read-aloud - I’m on my fourth time through it with only one to go. (Two of the older ones were close enough in age and ability to do theirs together.)

I have used the “not of general interest” from time to time, although I usually forget about it shortly after we’re done reading the book. I wish I could whistle loud so I could call assembly and time them, because even for dinner it’s hard to get everyone rounded up (and hard to get Dad off of FR.)
