During a stateside deployment (POV) I went from Dallas to No-Hope Pope, and took I-20 for the first part of the trip.

Sure, you have to go through Louisiana, but Vicksburg, required me to add a day of leave to my travel time... Great history there.

I fully agree about Vicksburg! In a driving trip from DFW to Florida in 1986, we spent so much of the day there (unplanned) that we had to get a room for the night before continuing our trip! Great battleground site.
