The infamous Legoman that washed up on a Florida beach is now free after spending 90 days in lock-up.
The 8-foot tall statue named "Ego Lennard" was released from protective custody Thursday to Denise Kowal, the chair of the Sarasota Chalk Festival.
Legoman quickly became a big celebrity in town and even made Time Magazine as one of last year's top "oddball" news stories.
Ego had to wait so long to be released because any found property without an official claimant must be held for 90 days.
For those of you out there wondering where Legoman will land, Kowal says hopefully he wants to stay right here for Sarasota to enjoy.
"I'm sure I'll be told. He'll tell me things that he wants to do and as they come along, we'll hopefully out in the community quite a bit," she said.
Representatives of the Chalk Art Festival say Legoman is in big demand all over the country, so he might not show up on the beaches of florida again until after his tour is over.
I saw this on the local news and I’m going, “what the f-k?”
