That was a fun thing to do to computers in Radio Shack once upon a time :-)

I know the product really well. Used it extensively. Actually went through the upgrades, J320, J680, J690, J720. What a wonderful device. Ran on I believe it was Windows CE. Had word, excel, etc, I could fax with it, browse the internet.

Battery life was 9 hours unless you got the extended battery and that gave you 11 hours. Carry the two and you have 20 hours of continuous run time.

Tap color screen.

Why did they drop the line. I would love to talk to someone that developed it. Just one of those curiosities in life, to be able to tell someone what a great job they did and then ask why not more of a great thing.

Thanks for the reply

A little bigger than a check book in area dimension. 70 percent size keyboard - could actually type. Fits inside a front jacket inside pocket (a little bulky but not bad).

I suspect it was dropped when it became evident that windows ce wasn’t going anywhere. Microsoft very much wanted to compete with the palm OS, but it never took off. For an OS like this to really take off, developers had to flood the market with programs.

I wonder if anyone ever got lynx to run on it?
