I prefer the Patton* version, “it’s a good day for the enemy b******s to die!”
*There is no hint of evidence that General Patton ever said this, but it sounds like something he would have said.
That was in Little Big Man, and I doubt they copied it from a John Wayne movie.
The Lakota Sioux did say that. I believe Mari Sandoz wrote about that in Crazy Horse: The Strange Man of the Oglalas.
