That particular ad probably did as much to eclipse the conservative movement in America for a generation, as the cumulative effect of the JFK assassination, the Viet Nam war, and the Cuban Missile crisis put together.

Visual images are of almost unaccountable power, and it was one of the most effectve products the Soviet facilitators ever managed to place in the American consciousness.

The end result was that Richard Nixon looked almost benign by comparison.

Lee Harvey Oswald was from Louisiana; however, Dallas was regarded as a city of hate after JFK was assasinated. Why was that? It was because Dallas was avant garde in expressing Conservative ideas back then and the media wanted to smear Dallas and rightwing ideas.
