Cheers to the Professor...the best there ever was.

Ho! Ho! Ho! to the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe.
Rain may fall and wind may blow,
And many miles be still to go,
But under a tall tree I will lie,
And let the clouds go sailing by.

A good day to get around to reading “Monsters and Critics”.”

And without that essay, we probably wouldn’t have Beowulf; what the fire in Cotton’s library failed to do, academia almost did....till Tolkien stepped in and changed the flow of literary history!

I will raise my glass to the Professor at dinner tonight.

LOTR forever! Both the book and the movie.

My only negative. LOTR has ruined the fantasy genre for me. After reading it, anything else is a poor imitation.
