U.S. Justice Department blocks S.C. voter ID law

The U.S. Justice Department has blocked South Carolina’s controversial voter ID law, saying it would prevent black people from voting. It was the first voter ID law to be refused by the federal agency in nearly 20 years. The decision means voters will not have to show a Department of Motor Vehicles-issued driver’s license or photo ID card, a U.S. military ID or a U.S. passport. And it means the state, which says it plans to appeal the decision in court, will spend time and taxpayer dollars on the second such lawsuit during Gov. Nikki Haley’s term.

Why isn’t he in prison already?

Why does he still have a job?

Seems someone is getting nervous about Sheriff Arpaio’s scheduled news conference to present the findings on BO in Feb. Trying to throw out as much as they can while they still can maybe?

I don't understand. Why don't the Driver's License ID requirements keep blacks from driving?

From the article: Perez also noted that South Carolina’s minority voters are “20 percent more likely to lack DMV-issued ID than white registered voters, and thus to be effectively disenfranchised.”

And in what way have they been prevented from getting their ID?

Perez was using data from the S.C. Election Commission, which notes that 239,333 of South Carolina’s registered voters, or 8.9 percent, do not have DMV-issued IDs. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles this week disputed those numbers, noting that more than 200,000 of those voters either live in other states, have allowed their IDs to expire, have licenses with names that don’t match voter records or are dead, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Of course, we all know this is about protecting the group that always favors the Democrats. The fraudulent vote.

The Obama administration has blocked clean elections in South Carolina. I have harsher words - later.

SCOTUS voted in favor of the Indiana law...This SHOULD be enough to secure voter ID in each and every state if they pattern their laws after the IN law.

But alas Rats are fighting it in each and every state trying to establish the practice.
