I put myself first also in a lot of ways — I try to keep my weight down and stay in shape, I try to get enough sleep, not do stupid things that wear myself out, I take my vitamins, etc — but only so as to be COMPLETELY AVAILABLE AND STRONG for my family, for my special needs son, and so as not to fail and let down the people in my life who depend on me, totally, financially and otherwise.
I mean — putting yourself first is great ...but there’s a balance. Maybe this is what she means ...but it will come out selfish sounding. I wonder who is dependent on Michelle? I mean — something tells me that her life does not exactly parallel the average American woman in this respect.
“Obama says she found her self slipping “pretty low” on her own priority list because she was “so busy caring for everyone else.”
I don’t believe there has been a day in her life where she hasn’t stepped on someone else’s head on the way up the ladder.

These people are acting like African Banana Republic Potentate Dictator like His Excellency President for Life Field Marshal Al Hadji Dr. Idi Amin, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular (no comment his official title says it all), Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe who has run his country into the ground while enriching himself and his cronies and Joseph Désiré Mobutu of Congo, who forced all television news channels to precede the evening news by an image of him descending through clouds from the heavens

I mean putting yourself first is great ...but theres a balance. Maybe this is what she means ...but it will come out selfish sounding. I wonder who is dependent on Michelle? Or is she the type of person who is dependent on others? I understand the points you're making. Knowing that interview would be for public consumption however, why would she make such tactless statements, knowing (seemingly) that a great deal of precision should be applied to her words, lest they be misunderstood?
I have to believe that as educated as this first couple is, they know the meaning of choosing words carefully, especially as lawyers. If they're deliberately choosing words and making statements like these, I can only believe they're doing it purposely to be inflammatory. If they're choosing these words by accident, not cognizant of their impact upon readers and listeners, they're completely incompetent. Which is worse?

These people have not one clue about American values. Real Americans are very charitable and respectful to others. The caveat these days is a federal government and state governments that have been too charitable with our individual wealth and passing laws taking from us and distributing as the behemoth see's fit; creating a "class" of dependents that simply cannot be satisfied.
People like these low class Obama's riddle our government and are destroying what is left of American values.

That's nothing new; she has always been her #1 priority.

Bingo! She knows exactly what she is saying. She is reaching out right through the TV screen to connect with the inner narccisist of all of the single-mom (married to the government) Democrats who are the backbone of that party. Her claim to rightfully pamper herself resonates with them and builds on their psychosis which binds them to the Party.
Those who would find her remarks offensive, are not her voting-base, anyway.
To: RummyChick
shouldnt her kids be her highest priority?? One would think so but everything points to sheer selfishness.

The POTUS and the First Lady are supposed to be OF SERVICE to their country first, not serving themselves first. I think the Obama’s have taken the phrase “first family” and perverted its meaning. I can’t believe Michelle Obama is stupid enough to have said these things in an interview. Her staff must be going nuts right now running damage control, lol.

Michelle Obama: "No, no, it's practical. It's something that I found I needed to do for quite some time, even before the presidency. And I found it other women, in similar situated balancing career family, trying to do it all and a lot of times we just slip pretty low on our own priority list because we're so busy caring for everyone else. And one of the things that I want to model for my girls is investing in themselves as much as they invest in others."Ok...here is the whole quote...not really as bad as it being portrayed
She simply bought the feminazi line like all libtards that women can have it all and realized it's a fantasy...

JESUS said that those who would be first, shall be last, and those who humble themselves, putting their own needs and desires last, shall be first.
