Roswell really happened and there are flying saucers hidden at Area 51, JKF survived the two dozen or so government assassins at Dealey Plaza and died an old man, the moon landing was faked, Elvis didn’t die and has been spotted working at various fast food restaurants and Michael Jackson is actually alive and in seclusion busily planning a stunning comeback.

The last administration never defended itself; but I personally believe bin laden got himself vaporized near Tora Bora, so there's no evidence to use to debunk the current story. The Bush admin would also be demonized if they did have proof that bin laden was dead in '02, but concealed that fact from the public.
You mean no one knew, and it took the geniuses in the current administration to find this out?

Why would you assume the military was responsible when it is the administration that issues the orders - and could also alert the taliban to what those orders are?

I just finished Marcus Luttrell's book "Lone Survivor" last week and they did send a chinook with several SEALs on board in an attempt to rescue Luttrell and his team. That chinook was destroyed by an RPG, killing everyone on board.
Complacency from citizens has got us where we are today.

Because Bush is just too damned polite. He never seemed to understand that as a private person it is admirable to turn the other cheek, but that as a public officer you have a responsibility to refute those who spread lies about you.
On top of which, does anyone think that the press would give Bush any credit if he said that bin Ladin was already dead, unless he could produce a body to prove it?
Had osama been alive all these last years he would have spoken out on video from time to time but he didn't cause he was dead.
I am not saying that all these Seals wouldn’t have been sent to save that one man - I am saying that their policy is not to all be on the same aircraft at the same time.
Truth is stranger then fiction.
Or because he was extremely paranoid of the impending doom of making a mistake...
I would guess that would be based entirely on the requirements of the mission.
