I think the manager is a jerk and I would never work for such a creep.
So why does/did this employee stay?
In our society we sue for everything. This is not the business of the state and I see no reason for this to be a court case.
In my state (NC) you can fire an employee for any reason or for that matter you can fire them for no reason at all (so long as it is not based on race, religion etc. which are protected by federal law).
Makes more sense to me.
From what I got from the article, it sounded like he was fired last February. It didn’t say why. I have the feeling that this lawsuit is a result of him not finding another job since then. I have to ask... in NC, you can be fired for pregnancy or a medical condition?

Perhaps because in this economy he knew he couldn’t find another job? If he walked, there’s no unemployment, no nothing, just the hope that he can find another job.
I’m all for walking way; no one’s holding a gun to your head. However, I won’t blame people for staying at bad jobs because they need to keep a roof over their heads.
