Syracuse University associate head basketball coach Bernie Fine was fired Sunday in the wake of an investigation of child molestation allegations against him.
In statement released Sunday night, Kevin Quinn, the school's senior vice president for public affairs, says Fine has been "terminated, effective immediately.
The move came at the direction of Chancellor Nancy Cantor.
The 65-year-old Fine was in his 36th season at his alma mater. He had the longest active streak of consecutive seasons at one school among assistant coaches in Division I.
Fine's firing comes in the wake of new revelations Sunday, including a third accuser.
Two former Syracuse ball boys were the first to accuse Fine, who has called the allegations "patently false."

This is the new PC. Everyone is guilty of not stopping the homo pervert except the homo himself who out and about.
And, she was also doing one of them.
I found his denials far more credible than Sandusky’s and some of his accusers have their own veracity issues but where there’s enough smoke, there’s probably fire which is too bad. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Boeheim said he’s known Fine for 50 years and implied he never saw anything inappropriate. Only slightly more believable than Joe Paterno; at least for now. I will not be surprised if people come forward and say that they told Boeheim what was happening.
He never SAW anything, but did he HEAR of anything.
Didn’t his boss call the alleged victims ‘liars’? If so, he needs to go as well.
When the coach starts becoming the schools god, he needs to retire.
I heard the statute of limitations has run out on anything pending against fine.
Either Jim Boeheim is loyal to a fault or he is complicit in a coverup.

Interesting...I added that remark to avoid all the posters who inevitable add:”Innocent until proven guilty!” BUT, let’s see if any more little boys come forward that are within the SoL...

Seems as if even left-leaning college administrators are starting to have second thoughts about the excesses of "gay-friendly" atmospheres on their campuses.

Listened to the tape and couldn’t help concluding that just about everybody involved in that tape is totally f’d up.
The wife talked about Fine’s tastes in boys the same way a normal person would describe their spouse’s taste in pizza. And then she admits bonking this Davis kid at some point in the whole decade-long travesty.
And what the heck is this guy Davis doing hanging out with Fine, even when he (Davis) was well into his 20’s? I can see a kid getting taken advantage of by some perv while a young boy or early teen, but for crying out loud, by the time he’s 22 or so, he should have enough sense to avoid the jerk, especially if, as he implies, Fine’s advances were unwanted.
If this stuff is true, Fine is a total scumbag, but his wife and this guy Davis are pretty messed up too.
That will clear the Division 1-A coaching ranks pretty quickly.
