Well let's see. Once the "structural defect" is corrected who will do the expense and effort to develop new pharmaceuticals -- how will pharmaceutical companies all over the world survive without anything to steal?
Citing too many expensive tests as a problem where was the reason for the tests mentioned? (Slip-and-fall lawyers -- and how about the cost of insurance protection from attacks by those Democratic Party fund raisers?)
Do you have a source for that?
Depends. If I get another 15 or 20 good years, I may just decline that last 6 months of sickness. I don’t fear death as much as I fear living incapacitated.
Suicide is verboten in my philosophy, but I’m not sure that drinking a fifth of Jack and taking a lawn chair out in a cornfield and watching the stars on a below zero night is exactly suicide. I told my kid about this plan and he said I will probably just freeze my nose and ears off, and then he will have a really ugly old fool to take care of.
Thanks; Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m with you, sweetie. Nothing to excess, no TV, walk my dogs, and try to reduce stress by rationing my exposure to Free Republic.

And, too many vaccines:

Cheers
If every ingredient that naturally occurs in food were listed, instead of just the food item as a unit, you probably wouldn't be able to pronounce most of it. I look more at the nutritional content than the ingredients, especially that item labeled "Calories".
Please don’t quote some anti-vaccine website as a source.
The diseases prevented by vaccines are deadly; the most common side-effect of vaccines are localized inflammation at the site of the shot.
There has been an increase in the number of people refusing to have their children vaccinated, and there has been an increase in deaths from infectious diseases as a result.
I’m surprised that among the many replies here, no one has mentioned a major driver of cost, and that is the requirement that emergency rooms see ALL patients, regardless of ability to pay or severity of illness. The emergency rooms become crowded with people seeking “free” treatment for sniffles, and the cost of caring for them is shifted onto the paying customers.
If it were up to me, the standard for “free” emergency room care would be “life, limb, eyesight”. Otherwise, anyone wanting to be seen at an emergency room would have to pay a fee up front—enough of a fee to make them consider whether they are really so sick that they absolutely MUST see a doctor right now.
I’m referring to chemical additives.
Likely true.
You can do anything with statistics.
I’m a biochemist. I honestly don’t know what is meant by “chemical additives”.
Could excessive litigation have anything to do with it?
We have the best equipment and medicine, that’s not cheap.
As for death rate, take one look at the number of morbidly obese people, druggies, alcoholics and other people who make absolutely no attempt to maintain themselves, especially in the less affluent sections.
I get the distinct impression that the Swiss on average are in better shape than Americans, please correct me if I’m wrong.
How many illegal aliens are being counted as citizens?
are you saying the FDA is redundant?
Yes, I am saying the FDA is redundant. Yes, I am saying the FDA is redundant.
I call Bullshit on this one. About every week I read an article, or two about how America has the best healthcare in the entire World, about people coming to this country to get the care they can’t get in their own country, so why are we effing it up with Obamacare? Those type of articles seem to be prolific.
This looks like some sort of agenda article to me.
“They are too poor to run to the doctor all of the time.
The average American over 60 is on Coumadin wether they need it of not. Coumadin is a dangerous blood thinner.”
